Volunteer since 2018 in the areas of Training, Marketing, and the Scholarship Committee<\/p>\n
When Sherry attended BCFE in 2014, she sat in a row of mainly females, all of whom had little to no experience in digital forensics.\u00a0 They supported each other during those two weeks.\u00a0 Sherry felt overwhelmed with the new material but continued on to the certification phase.\u00a0 She was inspired by her accomplished peer review coach, Heather Mahalik, and successfully earned her CFCE in the end.\u00a0 Sherry was happy to hear that the other females in her BCFE row acquired their certifications as well.<\/p>\n
The IACIS training and certification process was a strenuous but worthwhile stage in Sherry\u2019s career, and she attributes her confidence in her work to IACIS.\u00a0 Since volunteering, she has had multiple females come up to her and thank her for inspiring them in a male-dominated field.\u00a0 These are the reasons she volunteers for the organization.\u00a0 She is committed to giving back to an organization that has helped build a strong foundation for her career, and she wants to help other females reach their potential in the field. Sherry has contributed to IACIS as a BCFE instructor\/developer\/file systems topic lead, social media coordinator, and oversees the Digital Forensics Scholarship for LE Women.<\/p>\n
After retiring from the Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office, with her last ten years investigating child sexual exploitation cases, Sherry is now the Global Training Manager for Griffeye and an instructor for the National Criminal Justice Training Center of Fox Valley Technical College. In her spare time, she enjoys epic bucket list adventures, anagrams, happy hours, and working out to offset the happy hours.\u00a0 Sherry played keyboard and guitar in multiple bands and centers her travels on food.\u00a0 She consistently embarrasses her friends with terrible karaoke singing, taking photos of her meals at restaurants, and converting hex to decimal in her head at parties.\u00a0 She does not like onions or the show Tiger King<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
